When father’s Day is approaching, Guo gangtang, the prototype of the film “lost orphan”, ended his “journey of finding a son and being grateful for thousands of miles” and returned to his hometown Liaocheng, Shandong Province. When passing Nanjing, Guo gangtang told reporters, “the child sent me a pair of knee pads after he knew I was riding again, and told me to protect the position of my knees. Although the child is not good at expressing, he remembers in his heart that I think this is enough.”
In 1997, Guo gangtang’s 2-year-old son, Guo Xinzhen, was taken away by traffickers. Guo gangtang rode a motorcycle and began to search for relatives at the end of the world. Later, he became the character prototype of Andy Lau’s role “Lei zekuan” in the film “lost orphan”. In July 2021, Guo gangtang succeeded in finding his son. The Ministry of public security organized the public security organs of Shandong and Henan to hold a touching marriage recognition ceremony for Guo gangtang and Guo Xinzhen in Liaocheng City.
In a flash, more than a year has passed. After finding his son, Guo gangtang didn’t stop and began to “look for his son and be grateful for the journey of thousands of miles”. On the one hand, I want to thank those kind-hearted people who helped me find my son all the way. On the other hand, I also want to help more families find their relatives through my experience of finding their son, and encourage and cheer up the families looking for their relatives with my own actions. When he passed Linzhou, Henan Province, his son said, “Dad, protect your knees all the way. Don’t get bone spurs after a long time.” And sent him a set of knee pads.
This is Guo gangtang’s first father’s day after he succeeded in finding his son, which shows that his behavior has been affirmed by his son, who has taken practical actions to support his father’s “Thanksgiving journey”.
